Juanita Brown
Juanita Brown, Ph.D., is the co-founder of the World Café, an innovative, face-to-face and virtual approach to large group dialogue and engagement now being used by leaders on six continents to foster constructive engagement on critical organizational and societal issues. Juanita has served as a senior affiliate with the MIT Sloan School’s Center for Organizational Learning (now the Society for Organizational Learning), as a research affiliate with the Institute for the Future and as a Fellow of the World Business Academy. Her award-winning book, The World Cafe: Shaping Our Futures Through Conversations that Matter, co-authored with David Isaacs and the World Cafe Community, has been translated into 10 languages.
Juanita and David have recently re-located to her family’s 90 acre farm in Western North Carolina. There, in collaboration with younger leaders as well as her 90 year-old mother, Millie, a Florida civil rights pioneer, Juanita is co-creating Together for Life, a gathering place nurturing multi-generational partnerships for community resilience and engaging the World Café’s global network in fostering a new paradigm for multi-generational leadership in addressing local and global challenges.
During the Innovation Marketplace, Juanita and Samantha Tan will offer a skill-building session on Multi-Generational Leadership: Shaping Tomorrow Together. Also during the Marketplace, Juanita will share the Together for Life project as a case study.
